Lost landscapes

6/6/10 Lost landscapes. A quick prayer. We have to protect our landscapes/ecosystems for future generations. This current oil spill situation is just devastating, the human toll on families with injuries and the lives lost, bird, animal and sealife, people losing livelyhoods, homes, and it is still spreading. Remembering beach trips of my life to the Gulf, and soon Atlantic, Coast....my nephew just had his first surf-fishing trip to Cape Hatteras National Seashore over Memorial Day weekend this year, how many more will be in his future if this doesn't get under control soon? It is heart-breaking to so many, and this blingee just kinda came together in my mind. On the national news the other night, it showed a couple in Gulf Shores, LA. They had erected a cemetary in their yard of sayings of everything that would be missed because of losing their beaches, for years to come... Walking your dog on the beach, sand between your toes, building sandcastles, having picnics, fishing, boating, swimming in the ocean, romantic strolls, sunrises and sunsets, family. It just said it all...
