September 11, 2001 When the World Stopped Turning
Like thousands of others on Sept. 11, 2001, I was watching a morning news program that used the World Trade Center as their backdrop. I saw the first strike on tower one. It was so fast it almost went unnoticed. Within seconds the program stated a news broadcast that something had hit the World Trade Center. Stunned, I continued to watch and listen as further updates were given. As I watched and listened..the second plane came into view and sturck tower two. Almost at the same time news reports were starting to come across with the horrifying words "Terrorist Attacks." Several planes had been hijacked and were now being plunged into the Heart of America. Newscasters were reporting through their unashamed tears, cameras were showing people from around the world as their day halted as eyes watched in disbelief the devastation occuring on American soil. We watched together as flames and smoke spewed into the air. We watched together as Brave Emergency Personnel entered the towers. We watched together as people, dazed, confused and injured fled into the streets. We watched together as Tower Two crumbled upon itself and dissapeared into a heap of rubble. For a brief few minutes Tower One stood alone, and then it too, crumbled. We cried, and Together, we Prayed that September day. From that horrible day until forever WE WILL REMEMBER. Remember those that helped others to escape, those that gave their own lives in the hope that others could live. We thank you for your sacrifice in the face of danger. We pray for your families. Wow, Magnificent creation, this is the best september 11 creation i have seen in here :-)
Your art are so good and wonderful, even i do live in Norway we will never forget this day. I had a newborn that day and year, and i was shokced.

Magnificent creation, Donna!  And thank you for sharing your story.  I was getting ready for work - never made it.  I was glued to the TV.  I used to be able to see the towers in the distance as I drove to work.  Newark NJ is just over the river from NYC.  For WEEKS afterwards, I could see the plumes of smoke as the WTC smoldered.  It was devastating.  We lost lots of people in our town.  A friend's brother was on one of the planes.  It was and still is unfathomable!
