captive orca profiles 44 Kalia

Kalia is an 9 year old female orca who lives at SeaWorld San Diego where she was born on December 21, 2004. Her mother is Kasatka and her father is Keet. She is also known as Great Grandbaby Shamu as she is the grand daughter of the first orca born at seaworld , Kalina, who is Keet's mother. She is Keet's first calf. Kalia is a very dominant orca. She will often rake the more submissive orcas, especially Ulises and Ikaika. She is the dominant orca's calf so she can get away with more and has a higher rank in the pod though Kasatka will discipline her if she wants too. She has never shown aggression towards her trainers but was stopped from doing waterworks because of her dominant nature sadly she has been pregnant by Ulises shes only 9 yet again another orca pregnant to young by seaworld wild orcas dont give birth until at least 15 taima died from breeding to much and to young the child is due in december
