Memorial Day started in 1868 in honor of Union Soldiers on the 30th of May then it was called Decoration Day. Later in 1914 it was made a legal holiday. Later still it became Memorial day and included the fallen of All wars. In the 1970's they changed the date of it to the last Monday in May thus it changes its date from one year to the next. That way Government employees could have an extra day off. Thanking All Veterans who have died for our country. And their family and friends as well. God Bless you and God Bless America.
