..in Paris: One of the few female street artists around, KASHINK consistently chooses men as her subjects. Her style is characterized by thick lines, bright colors, patterned surfaces, and bulging features. Burley and hairy with fat lips and multiple sets of eyes, the vibrancy of her figures often recalls the masked faces of the Mexican lucha libre. Frida Kahlo is also an influence in KASHINK’s work, as evidenced through her consistent references to Amerindian and Mexican culture. At times the artist uses her highly playful visual language to convey political messages in her work, as a recent project displayed her support for proposed same sex marriage laws
