FUGUE OBBLIGATO (Leva's Legacy, Part 4 of 4)

[Created 1/29/09] ----------------------------------------------------------------- BLINGEE TITLE: FUGUE OBBLIGATO --------------------------------------------- CAPTION: All her life she was singled out for her brilliance and this left her alone. Always yearning to play for and be adored by the masses, she realizes her true purpose in life was to be loved by only one. And just as the Fates and the Celestial Spheres had isolated her, it appears that Serendipity and Kismet have joined their heavenly chorus to single her out one last time to find her one true love. Lo and behold, it turns out ironically that he was a *HARP* player in one of her music classes for child prodigees. And with destinies fulfilled, their paths crossed again during her final performance in Venice. So she takes center stage and goes on to play for her soul mate who, all along the way, was the only one true love who appreciated her for who she was and not what she could give. And now it is her turn to cast roses at the feet of the one as deserving as herself. ------------------------- PURPOSE: This is the 4th in a 4 part blingee collection I call *Leva's Legacy* and I created this collection as tribute to Ercassiel/Leva, my favorite blingster whose talent is unsurpassed even beyond Blingee Land. The normal fugue opens with a theme in one voice or part. A second voice answers, with the same theme slightly altered, while the first voice continues with an accompaniment that may have the character of a countersubject that will be used again as the piece progresses. 'Obbligato', as a music term, is used to indicate an additional instrumental part that cannot be omitted, particularly when a solo instrument adds an accompanying melody in some baroque vocal forms.
