Dark clouds crept in overhead, like any other day. There is a certain charm about it, one may easily over look. Comfort. One has not lived until they've experienced rain. In order to reap the existence of rain, the shock of thunder and blinding light of lightning, is something one must grow to endure. As it pelts down upon frail skin, it creeps into every crevice. Clouds meet in the middle, they gather above the raging tides to come together and form this tranquil destruction, you refer to as a storm. I felt it first with cracks upon my dry lips, My voice hoarse and a breath so rigid I feared another would not be taken. To breathe in the rain, is to kiss something sacred. It's untouched by any other, poured down upon you relentlessly. As I reached to the sky above, I found only darkness within my reach and soon after, My cracked lips smiled with comfort. I saw her there, that night. I could mistake her not for any other. She stands a certain way upon her frail feet and when she smiles, the wind caresses me. To catch a glimpse of her face, I have to stare, while suffering through pelting rain. If I looked away for a meager moment, I am positive I'd miss it. As her footing strikes the ground, her smile overwhelms me. The wind brushes the hair from my eyes and face, leaving me in her radiance. No more than a second later, She's gone. My heart clenches in my chest, the agony of her leaving confides me. As she disappears, her beautiful laughter takes hold of me. I close my eyes and allow myself to hear her voice, for it is rarely spoken. Crackling swishes through the air and I drew my attention yet again, For it is her. I'd do anything for that glimpse and to hear the laughter which follows. As the rain begins to let up, I find my fears come to light again. My toes press into the muddied grass, I chase after her with all I have. Every step I take, draws me farther from her. I cannot close the distance. My lungs feel as though, They've shriveled trying to keep up with me. I press forward, I must have every moment with her. Her laughter beckons me again, But she's so far ahead I can no longer catch a glimpse of her. Rain drips from my weeping lashes, I reach out to her only to find the wind has picked up around me. She's almost left. She's almost gone. I can run no more. I stop as the sun begins to come forth from the darkened clouds, She reveals it's light to me. Beckoning me to revel in it's warming rays, but alas I yearn for her cold comfort. The last droplets of rain pelt down onto me, But these feel like needles against my soaked skin. The sun quickly warms me, It's rays removing every proof of her. Her very existence, Gone. I'll wait here again, until I grow so sore I collapse. My love for her, will never die. Not even when my lips begin to crack. I await her kiss.
