Lost in her dreams / short story

(a rough draft, off the top of my head) As Melanie snuggled deep into her warm bed she dreamed of a better world, a better place. Each day, Melanie came home from school to cry in the privacy of her room wishing and hoping that one day she would find a true friend. A friend that would show her kindness and respect because all of her fellow students would pick and tease. As night falls and the moon shines brightly through her bedroom window she falls into a deep sleep of pure wonder and happiness. Each night Melanie dreams of butterflies in a beautiful and magical world. In her dream world she is a beautiful girl that talks with her butterfly friends. In her dreams, the long scar that stretches across her cheek doesn't matter. The only thing that matters in her dreams is the beauty of friendship and love. Thanks to her butterfly friends, she has love and friendship to carry on and conquer each day that Melanie faces.
